"Folklore has been one of the best additions to downtown Napa and is hands down, my favorite spot to eat, drink, shop, discover new music and meet new people. As someone who loves music and art, it literally feels like I’m at home there —it’s cozy, inviting and there’s always new artwork up, a new tune to discover, or a cocktail or menu item to try. Even when slammed (which good for them, happens often), the staff is consistently warm, professional, attentive (and funny, to boot). I’ve attended many of their events, and each one brings the community together in a unique and meaningful way. My new favorite is the “Committed Karaoke”, held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. Despite never being someone who’d sing in public, the welcoming atmosphere and supportive hosts and guests have made it such a fun and unexpectedly uplifting/growing experience. Through the music, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality of the staff and owners, Folklore has created a true sense of connection and community. I’ve met some incredibly interesting people there and even formed lasting friendships with some of them. What stands out most is how much the owners genuinely care about both their guests and the Napa community. Their passion shows in the events they host and the effort they put into making every experience memorable. As for some of the negative reviews…they feel every bit reflective of frustrated individuals and NOT the business itself. I suppose gone are the days of simply communicating your experience to the staff or owners – it’s a scary era of armchair complainers out there. In my experience, the staff and owners go above and beyond to make things right WHEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY. Come on people, The Stones said it best: "You can't always get what you want…but if you try sometimes, you might find…you get what you need". Folklore is the kind of place that thrives on good energy, community, and shared experiences—and that’s exactly what keeps me coming back AND sharing the place with everyone I know, friends and family alike. We should all be so lucky and proud to have a business like this in our lives."
